Doing our bit

19/01/2012

Many of you already know how much we love the Northamptonshire Community Foundation, we often rave about the fantastic work they do in the community – Steve even has the honour of sitting on one of their grants panels. The Foundation recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary and we were more than delighted to get involved in marking the occasion by designing a 26 page brochure, Growing Together: Celebrating 10 years of Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

Featuring touching case studies of individuals the Foundation has helped over the last decade and accompanied by some stunning black and white portrait photography, we’re really proud of the end result and (more importantly!) everyone at the Foundation is over the moon! We donated our design services in kind because it’s important to us to help the local community – and when we read personal accounts of how the Foundation has transformed and improved so many lives we feel a little bit warm inside! Click here to view the full brochure.

Congratulations to the Northamptonshire Community Foundation – here’s to another 10 years!

The Groupon debate

18/11/2011

We’ve just been having a bit of a discussion in the office about Groupon. There’s no question there are some really great deals to be had, but we wonder if the big brands are risking devaluing their name in return for immediate, high volume sales.

This article sums the positives and negatives up nicely – but what’s your view?

When celebrity endorsements go bad

07/10/2011

Today’s news about Tiger Woods’ recent sponsorship deal to become the face of Rolex got us thinking. We all love celebrities (the male half of Beach often know the latest celeb goss before the female half!), but using them – and sports stars in particular – are surely the riskiest forms of brand ambassadors going.

Woods, exposed as an adulterer in 2009, found sponsors deserting him once the scandal became public. Gatorade, AT&T, luxury watch brand Tag Heuer, Gillette, Accenture and Golf Digest all distanced themselves from the sportsman.

According to a recent Ipsos Mori survey, almost a quarter (23%) of those in the US and 19% of respondents in the UK said that Tiger Woods’ misdemeanours made them consider stopping buying products that he endorses, more than any other celebrity.

This side of the Atlantic, brands connected to Wayne Rooney are the next most likely to be shunned by the public. Of those surveyed, 14% say allegations about Rooney’s extra-marital affairs would lead them to stop buying his sponsors’ products. Coca Cola famously dropped Rooney in April.

Maybe private lives shouldn’t enter the equation at all – there’s no doubting Tiger Woods is a fantastic golfer. It’s a brave move by Rolex, but the fact remains brands face a boycott if their association goes bad. Here’s hoping Tiger behaves himself this time!

Beach launch SATO portal to support Dutch Business Partners!

24/08/2011

After working really hard over the last couple of weeks we’re pleased to announce that the Dutch portal of the SATO Business Partner Marketing Online (SBPMO to those in the know!) has now gone live.

The portal uses our innovative CreateMyMarketing platform which helps companies centralise their branding and marketing collateral in one place as a way of supporting channel partners with lead generation and brand awareness campaigns. The Dutch site is the sixth language to be built and the SBPMO now covers 42 countries throughout Europe, giving nearly 500 Business Partners access to centrally co-ordinated marketing that can be customised with local messages to suit their local market place.

Over 100 different items of  marketing collateral are now available including product datasheets, brochures, adverts, email campaigns, direct mailers, banners and pop ups as well as a huge range of merchandise such as pens, USBs, golf umbrellas and much more.

The Dutch site is only available to nominated channel partners but the website can be viewed here.
